It happens a lot of times that when two people meet they are suddenly attracted to each other. They often conclude it as Love and even named it as “Love at First Sight”. Love means a lot of things to a lot of people but there should be a general acceptance of what Love is. But it is also true that in our society no word is misunderstood more than the word Love. In his book ‘The Four Loves’ C.S. Lewis’ clearly distinguishes love. He writes about agape, the kind of love Christ taught and showed, from storge (natural affection or liking), eros (sexual desire), and philia (friendship). It is agape that is the greatest thing in the world.
When you are so strongly attracted to the other person it is very difficult to tell things apart. The bond that connects the both of you is enough to be called Love. But this is not always the case. This is where infatuation is playing its part. It is normally confused with real or true love but also this is true that it is strong enoughto bind two people together.
But there is a difference between Love and Infatuation. Love is being kind and humble with your partner, you are not selfish, you respect your partner, trust and admire that person, if you are always ready to take a blow for that person, his/her laugh makes you laugh and tears make you cry. That is love. But when things come to only n only physical love it can be considered as infatuation.
But just remember one thing no one on this earth is perfect. If you Love him/her you must understand this thing and try to forgive him/her for the mistakes if they apologize. However, the willingness to see your individual faults and correct them for the well-being of your relationship shows how far committed you are to each other. You both should feel a tender affection for each other, as when this happens, your relationship will hardly be based on money, sex and its likes. It will be based on you two.
Many relations start out with friendship. When this is the case both partners hv had enough time to study each other. In this case the foundation is built on trust which is to say very firm. But sometimes these kinds of relations also end up just because of your ignorance, not realising value of the other person. Not realising how much they love you and just getting carried away by what others say. So beware of it. I have seen a live example of this.
But it doesn’t matters how a relationship begins; love can be attainable if both partners respect each other’s feelings. This is achievable and both partners can work together to realize it.
